Ruag Aviation’s Munich-Oberpfaffenhofen paint shop received a second-place besser lackieren (better paint) Green Award in the category of in-house coating: companies with fewer than 50 employees. The award emphasizes the development of coating technologies and know-how through learning from industry leaders. It further aims to highlight the importance of properly performed coating, from extending product and platform service life to enhancing appearances.

Determined by a panel composed of representatives of Fraunhofer IPA, the German Federal Environment Ministry, as well as leading companies such as Audi, the Green Award is the only official competition in the German-speaking world that evaluates industrial painting capabilities. The shortlisted companies are evaluated and selected based on their innovation and dedication, their contribution to benchmarking and advancing coating technologies, as well as their involvement in the strengthening of technology transfers.

“This award affirms the high standards of quality delivered by our paint specialists in realizing customers’ visions for their aircraft exteriors,” said Hermann Bauer, Ruag Aviation’s general manager of aviation shop services.
