Berlin-based Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) opened its new line service operation in Zurich, Switzerland, on February 20. Following a two-day review by German aviation officials acting on behalf of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the facility was cleared to begin operations. ExecuJet Europe has partnered with LBAS to offer line maintenance support for Bombardier business jets, including the Learjet 40, 45 and 60, as well as the Challenger series and Global Express, XRS, Global 5000 and Global 6000. The new facility is approved for scheduled inspections (at the line maintenance approval range); troubleshooting and defect rectification; and AOG support. LBAS managing director Christoph Meyerrose cited the large number of the company’s customers operating in western and southern Europe who will directly benefit from the new location. “We bring our renowned services directly to their doorstep,” he said. “It is only a short distance from these economic powerhouses to our well equipped line maintenance base in Zurich.” Partner ExecuJet offers FBO service in conjunction with the maintenance. Adjacent to the LBAS facility, it has hangars, aircraft fueling, de-icing and anti-icing service and passenger/crew handling, including customs and immigration services.
