Flying Colours Making Its Mark in Africa
Canada-based MRO Flying Colours has expanded its reach with the delivery of a reconfigured Challenger 604 for a Nigeria-based client. The MRO delivered the aircraft to the client earlier this year after performing extensive maintenance, refurbishment and reconfiguration work. The process took 14 weeks and began with a major pre-purchase inspection for the client, followed by calendar inspections (including a 96-month one), a review of all service bulletins and the interior work.
Among the in-flight entertainment upgrades are new HD monitors, Blu-ray DVD player, iPod integration options and an Aviator 300 broadband system.
The fuselage was given new paint to complement the interior and its refurbished eight club seats and three-place divan, customized seat piping detail and List stone floor in the galley and lavatory areas (a first for a Challenger 604).
The MRO is also finalizing major reconfiguration and maintenance on a Learjet 35 for another African individual. In addition to maintenance, numerous phase inspections and cabin interior work, Flying Colours is upgrading the avionics with satcom/Wi-Fi, Waas, dual communication transceivers, single GWX 70 color radar and Honeywell Tcas II.
