Rockwell Collins To Double Size of Brazil Service Center
Rockwell Collins do Brazil announced plans late last week to double the size of its 9,500-sq-ft service center in São José dos Campos, Brazil, to 19,000 sq ft. The company expects to start construction by year-end.
“This expansion will bring new engineering and service capabilities to our customers in the region and will enable Rockwell Collins do Brazil to pursue and capture more commercial and military programs,” said managing director Nelson Aquino.
The company supports military and civil aircraft operators and manufacturers with avionics and aircraft systems solutions, communications and electronic systems and services. The service center in São José dos Campos has met local customers’ needs, including aircraft manufacturers Embraer and Helibras.
Rockwell Collins do Brazil has boosted its employee base in the country by 50 percent, to 46 workers, over the last three years, adding engineers, program managers, service technicians and business development personnel to better support customers, partners and programs in Brazil. This roster includes the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion suite for the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500 and the KC-390 military airlifter; “made in Brazil” HF-9087D radios for Helibras-built EC725 helicopters; communications and navigation systems for the Embraer Super Tucano; and avionics, cabin systems and service for several Latin American airlines.
