New Chinese Airport Now the Highest in the World

The new Daocheng Yading Airport (ZUDC) in the Sichuan province of central China now ranks as the highest-elevation civil airport in the world at 14,472 feet (4,411 meters) above sea level. The airport took two years to construct and began operations last week using a single 13,780-foot-long runway.
