New Germany-based engineering and maintenance organization 328 Support Services has signed an agreement with Mikado Capital to return four previously stored Dornier 328 Jets to service. Mikado Capital is a new purpose-built remarketing organization based in the British Virgin Islands, whose director Gunnar Thorvaldsson will be visiting EBACE this week.

Air Deccan has selected Honeywell’s full avionics suite and auxiliary power unit (APU) for the 60 Airbus A320s it has on order, the equipment manufacturer announced here. Boeing believes that its latest 747 iteration–the 747-8F–could become the freighter of choice among cargo airlines. This assertion by commercial airplanes division president Alan Mulally is not surprising, given that the launch orders for 10 and six aircraft respectively from Cargolux and Nippon Cargo have now been backed by a Heads of Agreement for 10 aircraft from Emirates.

The European Aviation Safety Agency has presented Embraer with a type certificate for its E-195 airliner, the largest airplane in its stable and the last member of the company’s flagship E-Jet family. The approval comes a little more than two weeks after Brazil’s new certification authority granted its approval and clears the way for deliveries to the 195’s first European operator, FlyBE.

Bombardier’s proposal to build a three-row stretch follow-on of its 86-seat CRJ900 not only begs the question why, but perhaps more immediately, how. Bombardier v-p of marketing and sales Trung Ngo has built the business case for an airplane that would represent the third stretch of a tube originally meant for the Challenger business jet.

Pratt & Whitney has been chosen to power Kingfisher Airlines’ fleet of new Airbus A330s with its PW4168A turbofan. The deal is for 10 engines and one spare and includes an option for a further 10 engines and is valued at $500 million if all options are exercised.
