CharterAuction, the Quincy, Mass.-based online charter broker that claims to have “the industry’s largest empty-leg database,” will now assist Phoenix-based Swift Air in finding aircraft to manage as well as match charter customers with the operator’s 15-strong fleet of business jets.

Swift Air pioneered an operational system it calls “Free Floating Fleet,” which sends its jets following the demand from point to point instead of restricting them to home base, similar to the way fractional providers operate their fleets. CharterAuction will receive a referral fee from Swift for owners it refers who place their aircraft with Swift to manage and charter.
