The Canadian civil aviation authority on July 19 issued type certification for the Embraer 170 and 175, paving the way for first deliveries to Air Canada. Last year the Canadian flag carrier placed a firm order for fifteen 175s in a dual-class, 73-seat layout. The airline plans to start service with the Brazilian jets this month, followed by the first of 45 Embraer 190s in November.
