Cessna Adding More VGs To Sovereign

When customers start receiving their Citation Sovereigns, they might notice the tail area has more vortex generators than it did when the super-midsize business jet received FAA type certification in June. According to a Cessna spokeswoman, “We knew we wanted to improve the direct airflow over the tail of the aircraft, so we developed a way to do it and we’re making the mods before the first delivery.” She declined to describe how the improvements affect performance. Meanwhile, the Citation CJ3, an upgraded version of the CJ2, is expected to receive FAA certification as early as this month.
