Sandel Avionics announced that its latest SN3500 electronic horizontal situation indicator (EHSI) has received TSO approval from the FAA, clearing the way for immediate deliveries of the unit to dealers. Designed as a drop-in replacement for a conventional HSI, the $9,950 SN3500 includes a 3-ATI LCD display capable of presenting moving maps, traffic, Stormscope lightning strikes and WSI datalink weather. The unit includes an internal Jeppesen NavData database and is approved for use as a primary heading and nav indicator. MTBF of the SN3500’s color display is 2,000 hours, according to Sandel.
