Stevens Aviation approached the Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) Airport Authority with a proposal to “significantly” upgrade the company’s existing facility and continue expanding its business. GSP and the Greenville, S.C. area have been Stevens’ home base since the company began a nationwide expansion in the 1960s.

The proposal calls for the expansion of Stevens’ maintenance operation, which will create as many as 50 new maintenance jobs at the airport over the next few years. The company also proposes building a new hangar to serve aircraft tenants and a new operations building offering fuel, flight planning, concierge and other services. Implementation of the plan is contingent upon the successful renewal of Stevens’ lease, which expires in October next year.
