Aviall of Dallas has teamed with Click Commerce to help it undertake collaborative commerce with its suppliers and customers. Aviall claims to be the world’s largest independent distributor of new aviation parts.
Aviall selected Click Commerce to more accurately manage inventory at its 40 global customer service/stocking locations. Benefits of the system include reducing excess inventory, extending inventory-planning capabilities, enabling comprehensive demand forecasting and providing Web-based visibility into global inventories.
According to Joe Lacik, vice president of information services at Aviall, “Click Commerce Link provides online access to inventory information. Because it’s Web-based, it allows us to include our clients in collaborative planning and brings our suppliers into the process, helping them improve production of parts and consumables to meet customer demand.”
Lacik said most of Aviall’s customers work in a just-in-time mode so they can maintain minimal stocking levels and turn to Aviall to get what they need, when they need it. “By allowing access to higher-quality information, we give our customers quicker response times and improvements in overall fulfillment costs,” he said.
