Business Jet Technologies Gains FAA OK for GII/IIB RVSM Package

Business Jet Technologies last month announced FAA certification for the company’s reduced vertical separation minimums (RVSM) compliance package for the Gulfstream II and IIB. The Dallas-based company said the upgrade requires only “simplified augmentation” of the airplane’s air-data computer and uses existing altimetry components, significantly reducing cost and downtime.

The “plug-and-play” nature of Business Jet Technologies’ RVSM package, called “The BJT Solution,” leaves the altimeters in place and interfaces directly with the aircraft’s existing autopilot, the company said. Price for the RVSM kit, including installation and needed STCs, is about $145,000. Business Jet Technologies can install the package or supply the gear to approved shops.
