The first Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) conference is to be held in Dubai on November 19, on the eve of the Dubai Air Show (November 20 to 24). The event is being held under the joint patronage of Royal Jet chairman HE Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarek Al Nahyan and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, president of Dubai’s Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of Emirates Airline. Sheikh Ahmed will give the keynote speech.
The conference agenda, which has been prepared by former U.S. NBAA president Jack Olcott, will address the various ways to use business aircraft and what they an offer to business people and wealthy individuals in the Middle East. It is expected to draw around 300 delegates (80 percent of whom will be guests invited by sponsoring companies) and will be held at Dubai’s Le Meridien hotel.
“This conference will serve to further highlight the expanding role business jets are now playing in the Middle East’s rapidly developing aviation industry,” said Sheikh Hamdan. “The regional market for corporate and executive aircraft is witnessing healthy growth as business leaders look for greater convenience of travel.”
MEBA is being run by Dubai show organizer Fairs & Exhibitions and is supported by Aviation International News and its sister publication, Business Jet Traveler. It is to be hosted by Abu Dhabi-based charter operator Royal Jet.
