Repair station operators have a new option when considering ways to meet the new FAA training requirements. Avstar Media of Addison, Texas, has released a computer-based training program to assist FAA-certified repair stations with the initial and recurrent training requirements set forth in the latest revision of 14 CFR Part 145.
Beginning last April, all Part 145 repair stations are required to submit their training programs to the FAA for approval. The programs must ensure that employees are trained on established standards and procedures. Additionally, companies must record and retain training results.
The program meets the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations and covers such standards and policies as personnel qualifications, facility qualifications and facility operations. In addition to presenting the basic training requirements in accordance with the repair station manual, the program can be customized to cover specific topics.
