Wilson Air Center’s new Charlotte, N.C. location is now open for business and fully operational. With the top-rated FBO in each of the last five AIN FBO Surveys (see page 20), Wilson was chosen by the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to manage the existing facility on the field (CLT).

Extensive upgrades are proceeding on schedule. Wilson will begin a complete renovation of the 20,000-sq-ft terminal building this spring. The new terminal
will be designed to emulate the corporate atmosphere at Wilson Air Center in Memphis. In addition to a main passenger lobby, the company is building a 2,500-sq-ft private VIP lobby, complete with bathrooms, a kitchen and facilities for meetings and press conferences. Wilson also plans to add 10,000 sq ft of office space in a new two-story building.

Further plans include the construction of a 240-foot by 50-foot all-weather aircraft arrival canopy, mirroring the structure at Wilson’s Memphis location. Full-time concierges and van drivers have already been hired to deliver passengers and crews to their aircraft. Improvements are scheduled to be completed next spring.
The 35-acre facility includes more than 25 acres of ramp space. There is more than 230,000 sq ft of private, shade hangars and T hangars available for parking and storage.

David Ivey, Wilson Air Center v-p, said, “The reception we have received from customers at the new location has been nothing short of phenomenal. With award-winning service already in place, the completion of extensive improvement plans will only solidify Wilson Air Center’s place as the premier FBO at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport.”
