Piaggio America recently moved its North American headquarters into the Jet Aviation facility overlooking the ramp at West Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), Fla. According to Piaggio America president Tom Appleton, the company moved to PBI from its Greenville, S.C. facility in response to recent company growth. The move increased office-space capacity by more than 30 percent and also has made more hangar space available. In addition to more physical space, management based its decision to move on the increased visibility provided by business aviation traffic at PBI.

“It just makes good business sense to be closer to your customers and potential customers,” Appleton said. “The response on the ramp to our aircraft has been overwhelmingly positive. I am confident this is just the beginning of a new and exciting phase in the history of Piaggio America.” Stevens Aviation will continue to handle Avanti completions at its Greenville, S.C. facility. Piaggio expects to deliver 18 Avantis this year and 23 next year.
