Comair Arrests Prompt Crackdown

The Transportation Security Administration began random security checks of airline and airport employees in Florida and Puerto Rico last month after authorities arrested two Comair employees for smuggling weapons and drugs aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Orlando to San Juan. Comair fired both employees, Thomas Anthony Munoz, who police arrested in San Juan as he deplaned with a duffle bag containing eight pounds of marijuana and 14 guns, and Zabdiel J. Santiago Balaguer, his alleged connection to buyers in Puerto Rico.
