Wing Aviation to build second paint hangar

After only one year in business, Wing Aviation is adding a second 20,000-sq-ft paint facility to handle steadily increasing business. The company is located at Lone Star Executive Airport (CXO), just north of Houston.

The facility will feature the same water treatment equipment used in the current hangar, including an automated filtration system designed to exceed all requirements set forth by the EPA and TCEQ. In addition, it will house stripping, metal and composite preparation processes, as well as wash-rack capabilities.

“The significant success we’ve enjoyed in our first year is one of the driving forces behind our recent alliance with McKinney Aerospace,” company president Brian Wing told AIN. “The new facility is designed to create a more efficient paint process and shorten client downtime. It will be large enough to accommodate a Global Express or Gulfstream V.”

According to Wing, having a second paint facility will enable Wing Aviation to use the current hangar exclusively for priming and painting. By separating these processes, the existing hangar will become a more sterile environment, better suited to spraying, while decreasing the need for rework and improving overall quality. Wing Aviation specializes in Gulfstreams, Hawkers and Learjets.
