Jeffrey Lee has been named chairman of the NBAA board of directors. He previously served as vice chairman and treasurer, and he replaces Kenneth Emerick, who will continue to serve on the executive committee. Pat Cunningham will replace Lee.

Duncan Aviation has promoted Todd Duncan to chairman of the company. He succeeds his father, Robert Duncan, who retired September 24. Robert will continue to serve as chairman emeritus.

The Halcyon Jets Holdings board of directors now includes writer, producer and director Spike Lee and Coinmach Service president and COO Mitchell Blatt.

Harry Johnson, founder of Cimarron Helicopters, has joined the board of directors of the UK’s Action Aviation. Johnson has also owned various FBOs, including Million Air in Oklahoma City.

Sentient Flight Group has promoted Steven Hankin to CEO. He has served as president and COO since Sentient Jet’s merger with JetDirect Aviation. Former CEO Greg Campbell will remain chairman of the board of directors.

Dean Atchison has acquired Spectrum Aeromed, a manufacturer of air ambulance equipment for fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and will serve as president and CEO. Dr. Scott Atchison has been named medical director.

Universal Avionics Systems announced the retirement of Charles Edmondson. Edmondson and the late Hubert Naimer founded the company in 1980 in Torrance, Calif. Most recently Edmondson served as senior corporate vice president and as a member of the board of directors.

John Selvaggio has been selected to head Comair. He was previously CEO of Delta’s discount subsidiary, Song. He replaces Don Bornhorst, who recently accepted a position as v-p of Delta Connection.

Ray Druseikis has assumed on an interim basis the role of CFO, treasurer and secretary of AirNet Systems. He is replacing Gary Qualmann, who recently resigned.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics announced the following appointments: Don Pearson, director of operations for Microwave Systems Solutions; Alan Howell, vice president of marketing and business development for the Electronics Group; and Martin McCarthy, vice president of sales and marketing for Europe.

Universal Aviation announced the following promotions and appointments: Vic Gregg, director of operations; Lex den Herder, regional director, Asia and Pacific region; Curt Kurshildgen, operational training and standards manager.

FlightSafety International announced the following appointments: Chuck Gallagher, executive director, regulatory compliance; and Gil Viera, manager, San Antonio learning center.

Gulfstream Aerospace has appointed Mark Ard director and chief engineer for advanced aircraft programs. Charles Etter was promoted to staff scientist, environmental and regulatory affairs.

Executive Jet Management (EJM) has promoted Gary Gennari to senior vice president for business development. Gennari previously served as vice president of sales.

George Nguyen has been named senior vice president of operations for Hawker Beechcraft. He most recently served as president and COO of Asimco Technologies.

Kevin Beitzel has been promoted to executive v-p of maintenance and operations for Clearwater, Fla.-based Avantair. He previously served as v-p of maintenance.

Stephen Lee has been appointed v-p of strategic projects for FirstFlight.

Bill Mermelstein has joined Corporate Flight Management as v-p for flight operations and business development.

DeCrane Aerospace has hired Heidi Pursley as the company’s new v-p of sales and marketing.

Mid-Continent Instruments has named John Eddy the assistant avionics lab manager for its Wichita location. Scott Brack has joined the company as a sales representative.

Eric Herrmann has been named general manager of SheltAir Aviation Services’ Plattsburgh, N.Y. FBO. He most recently served as general manager of Landmark Aviation in Rochester, N.Y.

Darrell Capra has been appointed manager of operations for Dallas Airmotive’s Minneapolis Regional Turbine Center. He previously served as a supervisor.

Landmark Aviation announced the following appointments: Dave Sunda, manager of the MRO/avionics division of the company’s Winston-Salem, N.C. facility; and Eric Faulkner, general manager of the White Plains, N.Y. FBO.

London Executive Aviation has named Graeme Foley Citation Mustang fleet manager. Foley was previously a captain on the Citation II and Citation Bravo.

Alex Melvin has joined Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store), located at Executive Airport in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as a store manager.

Atlanta-based Precision Aviation Group has promoted Ryan Yarbrough to manager of sales logistics, for Precision Heliparts. Before this promotion, Yarbrough was a salesman.

Gene Portela has been named general manager of ExcelAire’s FBO facility at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, N.Y. He most recently served as general manager and service manager for ExcelAire’s Eastway Aircraft Services.

W. Barry Smith has joined the aircraft sales group at Business Air, located at the Denton, Texas airport, to assist with research and marketing. 

Sacramento, Calif.-based Axis Jet has promoted Scott Malandrone to chief pilot. 

Maine Aviation has promoted Dean Street to chief pilot.

Joe Sabatini has joined BizJet International as regional sales manager for the West Coast.
