Gulfstrem G200, GV speed records sanctioned

The National Aeronautic Association has sanctioned eight city-to-city world speed records set last February and March by a Gulfstream G200 and a GV. The G200 records include Fort Worth, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska (2,027-nm great-circle distance), at an average groundspeed of 418 kt; Anchorage to Sapporo, Japan (2,610 nm), 415 kt; Nagoya, Japan to Hong Kong (1,425 nm), 319 kt; Manila, Philippines, to Singapore (1,285 nm), 327 kt; Jakarta to Melbourne (2,797 nm), 485 kt; Savannah, Ga., to Guayaquil, Equador (2,059 nm), 488 kt; and Guayaquil to Santiago, Chile (1,951 nm), 470 kt. The record-breaking GV flight was from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. (5,856 nm), at an average groundspeed of 493 kt.
