Starlite Aviation Catering has opened a facility in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,“just minutes from Hollywood International Airport.” It is the first major expansion for the company, established in 1985 and headquartered in West Palm Beach, Fla. The new location will handle orders through its West Palm Beach call center but will serve half a dozen Fort Lauderdale-area airports, including Kendall-Tamiami, Miami International and Opa Locka. Robert Coleman, v-p of operations, said Starlite is considering expanding further north and west, “perhaps Orlando and Naples in the next couple of years.” He added that at this point, however, the company has no plans for expansion outside the Florida market.
