Garrett Aviation has completed installation of the first Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Continuum retrofit avionics system in a Falcon 20. Designed to extend the lives of aging business jets, the package features active-matrix LCD adaptive flight displays that support advanced capabilities for terrain awareness, enhanced navigation maps, uplinked graphic weather and other functions. The system in the Falcon 20 includes an integrated autopilot; Collins FMS-6000 flight management system; AHS-3000 attitude heading reference system; TCAS-4000 traffic alert collision avoidance system; TWR-850 turbulence-detection weather radar; and Pro Line radios. The standard installation includes three 8- by 10-in. displays, with a fourth available as an option. In addition to the Falcon 20, Pro Line 21 Continuum has been certified for retrofit in seven business airplane types, including the Gulfstream II, IIB and III; Citation III; Challenger 600 and 601; and Falcon 50. Operators may choose to install fully integrated systems or individual displays, communications systems, flight management systems and hazard-avoidance capabilities.
