Texas Aviation Gets Tampa Police Mod Contract

Texas Aviation Services has been awarded a fourth contract from the police department of Tampa, Fla., to modify one of the city’s new law enforcement helicopters. The recently purchased Bell 206L-4 LongRanger will receive a law enforcement suite, a moving-map display and thermal imaging overlays, as well as “various external kits mounted on the airframe to aid with emergency search and rescue.” Texas Aviation of Fort Worth, Texas, has previously performed law enforcement modifications on three Bell 407s for the City of Tampa Police Department.
