NextJet of Sollentuna, Sweden, has acquired three 68-seat BAE Systems ATP turboprops and plans to start flying them late this month in scheduled service between small northern communities and the capital Stockholm. Under a new three-year Public Service Obligation contract starting October 25, NextJet will fly the British turboprops on routes linking the Swedish towns of Arvidsjaur and Lycksele to Stockholm Arlanda Airport; from Gallivare to Arlanda; and from Hemavan and Vilhelmina to Arlanda.

NextJet subleases the airplanes from established ATP operator West Air Sweden, which has agreed to maintain the turboprops and support the NextJet operation. NextJet now flies a 19-seat Beech 1900D and 34-seat Saab 340A on a number of domestic routes and to Copenhagen from Orebro, Sweden. It also flies a Cessna 560XL on air taxi and executive charter flights.
