Dallas-based Sagem Avionics announced it has received a supplemental type certificate for installation of its ICDS avionics system in the Commander 690 turboprop twin. According to the company, the display suite is designed to be user friendly and reduce pilot workload. The avionics suite is available with two, three or four 10-inch color active-matrix liquid-crystal displays. It provides primary flight instruments, engine instruments, moving maps, CAS advisories and a terrain awareness and warning system. It also integrates with radar and traffic advisory systems and can accept an assortment of additional avionics including datalink weather receivers and EVS cameras. Sagem plans to seek additional approvals in a number of business jets.
