Duluth, Minn.-based Cirrus Design announced late last month that president and COO Brent Wouters will take over the CEO role from company cofounder Alan Klapmeier on February 1. Klapmeier will continue to serve as Cirrus’s chairman of the board but will be less active in day-to-day operations at the company. “In addition to the strategic direction of the company, I continue to be involved in wider efforts to promote growth in general aviation,” Klapmeier said. Wouters has served as Cirrus’s executive v-p and CFO from early 2002 until March last year, when he was promoted to president and COO.
