Touching Bases: ASA opens in Dubai

The ASA Group has opened an office in Dubai to expand its VIP handling services. The group’s plans to build an FBO at Thailand’s Phuket International Airport are back on track following last year’s delay while anti-government protesters shut down the airport and stranded thousands of passengers. The Phuket FBO will be the airport’s first “world-class VIP terminal,” according to ASA, and will offer traditional FBO services for small and large aircraft operators, including diplomatic flights. “Despite the current downturn,” said CEO Simon Wagstaff, “there is evidently strong interest for a Middle East link from our clients in both that region and in Asia.
