Hurricane-strength winds destroyed three hangars at Salina Airport in Kansas on August 10, but luckily there were no aircraft in the hangars during the storm. Also affected were tractor trailers and construction barriers being used for a runway resurfacing job set for completion on August 19. “The storm set us back about a day,” said facilities manager Kenny Beiker, but he expected the job to be completed on time.
