Boeing Finds Buyers for Executive 747-8
Pushing ahead with its new 747-8 Intercontinental passenger iteration of the venerable 747, Boeing has already sold seven of the big four-engine widebodies for conversion to executive or head-of-state configuration.
At this point, the company is more focused on the freighter version. However, according to a source at Boeing, the first deliveries of the 747-8 airliner, priced green at about $300 million, are expected to begin in 2011, and the first intended for private use will be among them.
Boeing also reports firm orders for 13 executive and/or head-of-state versions of the yet-to-fly 787 airliner.
