BBA Aviation engine repair and overhaul company Dallas Airmotive has begun offering an AOG mobile repair vehicle in Southern California to provide engine services. The vehicle will be equipped to perform on-site engine diagnosis and repair, including hot-section inspection of Honeywell APU units and module exchange for Rolls-Royce 250 engines. The vehicle, which is based
at Signature Flight Support’s facility in Van Nuys, will be dispatched on demand throughout the Southern California basin.
The new unit is the company’s third such vehicle. The other two cover the Northeast U.S.–based at Teterboro, N.J.– and the Southeast U.S., out of West Palm Beach, Fla. Dallas Airmotive’s first AOG mobile vehicle entered service in 2006
and the second in 2007. All provide OEM-authorized service.
Each AOG mobile vehicle is equipped with all the tools and shop materials necessary to provide on-site APU hot-section inspection, APU compressor carbon seal changes, Rolls-Royce 250 module maintenance and exchange, and PW305 IBR inspection, as well as engine removal and replacement, non-destructive testing and LRU replacement.
