NewJet International, Bombardier Business Aircraft’s distributor in Monaco and Italy, recently delivered the first Signature Red Series Learjet 60XR to an undisclosed customer. Bombardier launched the Signature Series in two versions–red and black–at the NBAA Convention in October. Each features a specially designed cabin layout with increased legroom, soft color schemes, dark wood veneers and a larger galley than the standard Learjet 60. The Signature Series aircraft also come with a five-year extended parts and labor warranty for vendor-supplied parts. According to members of the Bombardier sales force, the Signature Series Black aircraft are the Learjet 60XRs originally ordered by the now defunct Jet Republic. The European start-up company ordered 25 of the twinjets and had options on 85 more, but it never took delivery of any before being declared insolvent in August.
