Audio International plans to begin deliveries of its new ethernet-based Platinum
HD cabin-management system in the second quarter of this year.

The DeCrane Aerospace company, based in Little Rock, Ark., introduced the system at the NBAA Convention last year as the high-definition follow-on to its Select CMS package. Audio International says, “The uncompressed 3G-SDI video signal produces beautiful, theater-quality 1080p resolution, distributed throughout the cabin with unmatched quality and no image latency.”

Platinum HD offers multiple-passenger interface options, such as 3.7-inch LCD touch panels, OLED options, capacitive touch switches or fully integrated slim-line
touch screens. All have customized full-color graphics developed by vendor DAAI. The entire cabin environment can be managed from one location or multiple locations.

According to Audio International marketing and sales director Mike Hammers, the system is well suited for all aircraft, from small- to large-cabin. Platinum HD also interfaces with peripheral source components such as AVOD, satellite television and a variety of games.

Platinum HD is also designed to supply system diagnostics and allow component reset and repair without removal of the product from the aircraft.
