takes over wilmington airparkDeutsche Post DHL has officially deeded the Wilmington Air Park in Ohio to the Clinton County Port Authority (CCPA), which is offering opportunities for tenants to develop new businesses at the airport. While DHL is no longer using the airport, ABX Air and other companies will still operate there. The Air Park was the Clinton County AFB until September 1971, when the base was closed. With 10,701-foot and 9,000-foot runways, the Air Park was ideally suited for cargo operators such as Airborne Express, which DHL purchased in 2003. The handover of the Air Park, said CCPA chairman John Limbert, “is just the beginning of the process of reactivating the Air Park. There
is still a lot of work ahead of us.”
