BLR Aerospace has named Heritage Aviation of Burlington, Vt., an authorized dealer for its King Air winglets. Under the terms of the agreement Heritage may sell and install BLR’s certified winglets for the King Air line. Heritage has equipped its four King Air C90s with winglets. After operating the aircraft with the winglets installed, Heritage pilot Eric John said, “We’re already experiencing shorter time to climb and more efficient fuel burn.”
According to BLR Aerospace, depending upon the flight profile, fuel savings can range from “five to 15 percent in climb and two to four percent in cruise for composite savings of three to five percent.” The company also claims the aircraft will display increased climb and cruise speeds, more responsive aerodynamic performance and stability and safer low-speed handling qualities, especially during short-field takeoffs and landings. BLR’s entire portfolio of winglets is certified by the FAA, EASA and ANAC.
