Accidents: Preliminary Report - DORNIER CRASH CLAIMS 14 LIVES

Dornier Do-228-101, Shikharpur, Nepal, Aug. 24, 2010–Heading to the Mount Everest region in heavy rain, the turboprop twin, operated by Agni Air, crashed as the crew attempted to return to Katmandu due to poor weather at the destination. The Dornier was destroyed when it crashed near a remote village and broke into several pieces, killing the three crew and 11 passengers. According to reports, the pilot reported failure of a generator during the flight. The Nepalese government is investigating the accident.
