The historic VASP airline hangars that have provided a base for the Labace show in São Paulo, Brazil, could soon be demolished to provide additional space for operations at Congonhas Airport. VASP went bankrupt in 2005 and its hangars have since deteriorated at Congonhas during legal wrangling. “If anything, it will be good for Labace, giving us more static display area,” Rogério Sautner of ABAG, the Brazilian business aviation group that organizes the annual Latin American bizav conference, told AIN. “The demolition won’t start before the fair this August. But for future fairs, we’ll just rent an enormous tent for the booths if we have to.” The eighth annual Labace will be held August 11, 12 and 13.
