Million Air’s newest operation at Gulfport, Miss., is slated to open this month. The $12 million facility, the 29th location in the Houston-based chain, will co-exist at least temporarily along with the Atlantic Aviation FBO, which has served the airport’s general aviation traffic from trailers since Hurricane Katrina ravaged its landmark WWII-vintage hangar facility in 2005. Atlantic said it will remain in operation at the airport for at least the next nine months and has yet to determine its future plans there.
Million Air was also awarded a multi-year lease agreement for the construction and development of a new FBO complex at Calgary International Airport.
The company also completed renovations on its temporary facility on the east side of Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The $350,000 project will serve as the company’s interim base at the airport until the first phase of a $20 million FBO complex is completed in 2013.
