Champaign, Ill.-based Flightstar continues to expand its portfolio of services with its designation as a factory-authorized line maintenance facility for the Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45 series. Flightstar is an FAA-certified repair station and Class IV maintenance facility with full airframe, engine, avionics and AOG capability.

Flightstar also received authorization from Honeywell as a line service center for the TFE731 series, HTF7000 and Honeywell APUs. “We are capable of doing routine and non-routine inspections, troubleshooting, engine R&R, vibe surveys and fan balancing. We are also authorized to do MSP and warranty work,” Bill Giannetti, Flightstar’s president, told AIN.

These designations follow the company’s recent acquisition of the assets of Bloomington Avionics of Bloomington, Ill. The staff at Bloomington Avionics, as well as its complete line of overhead and services, has transferred to Flightstar’s facility at Champaign-Urbana’s University of Illinois-Willard Airport.

Thirty-year-old Bloomington Avionics is an FAA Class I and II avionics repair station specializing in high-performance single- and twin-engine aircraft. Founded in 1978, Flightstar has more than 120 employees and operates from 100,000 sq ft of office and hangar space. In addition to providing airline and general aviation maintenance and avionics sales, repair and installation, Flightstar has an FBO and offers international jet charter and aircraft management services.
