The Jet Centre at London City Airport (LCY) concluded a $500,000 renovation of its passenger facility last month. Aimed at streamlining the passenger experience, with improvements such as a relocated entrance adjacent to the car park and a new layout to facilitate interaction between staff and customers, the facility now offers a “60-second plane to car” arrival pledge.
The refurbishment includes upgrades to the reception area and the large passenger lounge. An audio-visual-equipped conference room was added, along with a new ground-floor crew facility. The security screening area has been relocated to a new dedicated private area, with an officer onsite during normal operation hours. According to an airport spokeswoman, the facility sees approximately 4,000 passengers a year, three-quarters of them from the European Union, with most of the remainder from the U.S.
