Business Picking Up at Arizona Aircraft
Arizona Aircraft Interior Designs, a small refurbishment center owned and operated by the Wayne Bryant family for 38 years, is emerging from the recession and looking at “a good year in 2013.”
The Mesa, Ariz.-based center at Falcon Field recently delivered two Cessna Citation Xs, one with minor and another with major interior refurbishment. “In 2011 and 2012, growth was steady if slow, but in this year’s second quarter it began to snowball,” said Christa Pensworth, head of sales and interior design.
The company’s interior refurbishment history is typical of some smaller shops and includes everything from King Air 200s to Gulfstream IVs. But definitely atypical is that for 23 years, it has been providing upholstery for the military helicopters known as Marine One, assigned to carry the President of the United States. Arizona Aircraft, with 10 employees, is also an approved interiors shop for the Phoenix-based Cessna Service Center at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
