Signature Flight Support has expanded its operations at New York’s Westchester County Airport (HPN) with the $38.5 million acquisition of privately owned Jet Systems, one of five FBOs on the field. Formerly Avitat Westchester, the FBO has operated at the airport for 20 years, and its purchase will significantly increase Signature’s presence at HPN and give it locations on both sides of the field, while leaving Panorama Flight Service as the dual-use airport’s last independent FBO. “The acquisition strengthens Signature’s already leading position on that field and brings with it a lot of operational synergies available from consolidating two locations,” said BBA Aviation CEO Simon Pryce. “It also gives Jet Systems customers access to the much broader Signature network.” Among the facilities amenities are an onsite U.S. Customs and Border Protection office, a café with complementary computers and free Wi-Fi throughout the facility. The transaction, subject to approval, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.

The BBA Aviation subsidiary also announced that Sonoma Jet Center at California’s Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport has joined its Signature Select affiliate FBO program. The independent location will participate in Signature’s customer loyalty and employee training programs.
