Landmark Aviation named Ted Hamilton COO, Patrick McGuiness executive v-p and CFO, Charlotte Cheatham senior v-p of marketing and customer service, Robert Hiegel senior v-p and chief accounting officer and Matt DeLellis senior v-p of strategy and corporate development.

Airbus Group promoted Christian Cornille to executive v-p of industry, Cedric Gautier to CEO of Aerolia and Rafael Tentor to A400M program manager at Airbus Defence and Space. Cornille was CEO of Aerolia; Gautier was senior v-p and head of the A400M program; Tentor was head of the light and medium aircraft program and the multi-role transport and tanker program.

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Leading Edge Aviation Services named Jude Dozor CEO, Chris Harano president and Eric Hersom CFO. Dozor was most recently president and CEO of C&D Zodiac. Harano was serving as the company’s interim CEO. Herson previously worked for various international manufacturing companies.

Mark Johnstone was promoted to managing director of the EMEA region for BBA Aviation.

Adm. Mike Mullen joined Wheels Up as senior strategic advisor. He is former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving as principal military advisor to Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He oversaw the end of combat in Iraq and the development of a new military strategy for Afghanistan.

Mike Moore was promoted to v-p of aviation sales for Teterboro, N.J.-based Meridian. He has been with the company since 2008, involved in aircraft management sales.

Mark Binko was named CFO and v-p of finance for Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based National Jets. For the past 10 years, Binko managed Raymond James, an independent investment practice.

Gulfstream named Tony Swift field service representative in Africa. He will serve as liaison between the company and its operators based in or traveling through Africa. He was previously a field service representative for Gulfstream operators in northern New Jersey.

FlightSafety International named Jon Pollack director of business development for rotorcraft. Most recently the company’s director of courseware support, Pollack has held various positions at FlightSafety, including product marketing manager, director of training, manager of the company’s Toronto learning center and director of operations for the Boeing Business Jet training program. Jennifer Bensky was named director of courseware support, replacing Pollack. She was most recently director of programs for Hawker Beechcraft training and was center instructional technologist at the San Antonio, Orlando and Wichita learning centers. Paul Statesky was named program manager at the Hong Kong learning center. Jon Hester was named general manager of visual systems for the recently merged St. Louis, Mo. and Austin, Texas Visual Systems divisions. Otto Gambrel was promoted to assistant manager of the learning center in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was most recently program manager for the company’s Hong Kong learning center.

Western Aircraft named Dale Lester central regional sales manager. He previously held positions with Dassault Falcon and British Aerospace.

Sarah Dennis joined Biggin Hill Airport as customer service manager for executive aircraft handling. She was previously operations manager for David Lloyd Group.

Jeffrey Troccolo joined Portsmouth, N.H.-based Aviation Management Systems as senior v-p. He was most recently chief pilot for an aircraft management and jet services provider.

Duncan Aviation named Brian Andrews to the airframe service sales team. Andrews was previously an airframe technician and project manager at the company.

Tom Huismann joined Tradewind International as director of business development.

Mike Minchow, Duncan Aviation’s manager of completions and avionics sales, was elected to the Aircraft Electronics Association board of directors.

Thomas Miller, director of operations and senior vice president of regulatory affairs at Gama Charters, joined the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s board of governors.

Airshow pilot Patty Wagstaff will serve as an ambassador for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. She is a U.S. national aerobatic champion, having earned honors and recognition for flying low-level, envelope-pushing aerial demonstrations.

André Pelletier joined Capitale Helicopters as v-p of sales and business development.

Dennis Zalupski joined AerSale as senior v-p and general manager for the materials group. He was most recently president and CEO of Kellstrom Industries.

Marc Warren joined Crowell & Moring, an aviation and administrative law group, as senior counsel. He was previously acting chief counsel of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Universal Avionics named Corey Wilkinson sales manager for Latin America. He has held marketing, sales and business development positions at L-3 Communications and Monarch Aviation. The company also named Robert Kline airline sales manager for the U.S. and Latin America.

Phoenix-based Air Services International named John Gregg general manager, Richard Ritter director of MRO services and Barry Beegle lead engine mechanic, specializing in Rolls-Royce 250 gas turbine engines.

Garry Stephens was named engineering manager of Lewisville, Texas-based Cabin Innovations. He was previously principal project engineer, senior project engineer and lead engineer for narrow- and widebody completions at Associated Air Center.

East Alton, Ill.-based West Star Aviation named Dan McKillips regional sales manager. He was previously technical sales manager and manager of paint and interior at the company.

Frank Buratti joined Irvine, Calif.-based JetSuite as v-p of technical and systems operations.

Kenneth “Bo” Slajar joined Dallas-based RBR Maintenance as Hawker crew chief. After retiring from the Navy he transitioned into corporate aviation maintenance roles.

Keystone Aviation named Greg Kelley flight safety officer. He has been a pilot for the company since 2001 and holds type ratings for the G150, G200 and Learjet.

Avicus Group named Lydia Sheng global marketing director, based at the company’s Shanghai office. She was previously group marketing manager for Avion Pacific, Asian Sky Group and Kings Aviation.

Evan McCorry joined Viking Air of Victoria, British Columbia, as v-p of international sales and marketing for the Twin Otter Series 400. He was previously v-p of Latin American sales at Beechcraft.

Cory Theriot joined ERA Group as v-p of safety and quality assurance. He was most recently aviation manager for Shell Pipeline-Downstream.

Ronkonkoma, N.Y.-based ExcelAire named Verna Kay v-p of marketing and administration. She was previously human resources director for Clear airport security and director of recruitment at JetBlue.

Awards and Honors

Magellan Jets has been named to the Boston Business Journal’s 2014 Pacesetters list of the fastest-growing private companies in Massachusetts. The company’s sales rose by 22 percent last year, and it continues to expand its global presence.

Dean Atchison, CEO of Spectrum Aeromed, was named North Dakota Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Spectrum Aeromed designs and manufactures custom air medical and air ambulance equipment for airplanes and helicopters.

Final Flight

Edmond Boullay, a former experimental flight-test engineer and pilot and member of the French Ministry of Transportation/Civil Aviation Directorate, died on April 14. He was 71. Boullay worked for 13 years with the French MOD Flight Test Center as experimental test engineer and pilot before being appointed aeronautical engineer at the Office of Armament Attaché at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. In 1986 he joined the French Ministry of Transportation/Civil Aviation Directorate and created the position of Civil Aviation Attaché and DGAC representative to the FAA. The position he pioneered would later become part of the European Joint Aviation Authority and the European Aviation Safety Agency. Boullay retired in 2008 from U.S. Crest as a senior research associate and project director.
