The Million Air press conference yesterday was filled with announcements of new locations and executives for the FBO and franchise service provider.
Most important to the company was news that a corporate-owned FBO is now operational at Paris Le Bourget Airport, marking the first entrance of Million Air onto the European stage.
Pascal Ravel, general manager of the new location, said that while the facility is operational now, the grand opening is slated for January. The Paris FBO has the largest ramp space at Le Bourget, the airport best known as Charles Lindbergh’s 1927 landing site and the Paris Air Show, and construction of a 43,000-sq-ft hangar is under way. There was also news of a second French Million Air location at Cannes-Mandelieu Airport, making it the first private FBO in Cannes.
Roger Woolsey, president and CEO of Million Air, announced other new FBOs under construction in the U.S., including those at Charleston International, due to open next February; and Hawthorne Municipal (five miles east of LAX) and Rogue Valley International in Medford, Ore., both scheduled to open later this year. According to Woolsey, facilities at Alexandria and Lafayette, La., are both fully operational after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, with new terminals slated for next year.
Million Air, showing at Booth No. 5171, completed a spate of executive hires, adding Jeffrey Reid as executive v-p of the Million Air Charter division; Debbie Zener as executive v-p of marketing; v-p, aircraft technical services, Brad Pimm; and Deborah Highsmith as director of Million Air’s customer service program.
