Honda Aircraft announced this morning deals with three major component suppliers for the HondaJet. GKN Aerospace of Tallassee, Ala., will supply the structural subassembly for the fuselage, while Avcorp of Delta, British Columbia, will provide the wing structure sub-assembly. Both are major suppliers of civil and defense aerospace systems and components. Honda also reiterated Garmin’s role as the avionics supplier, originally announced last year. A Garmin official told AIN that every system the company makes is tailored to the specifications of the airframe manufacturer, and that the system for the HondaJet will be based on Garmin’s flagship avionics package, the G1000. However, the representative did say to expect cutting-edge technology for the jet’s panel, and possibly some new functionality previously unreleased. Regardless of the components, the panel will be fully integrated, the official said. Honda says it has taken orders for more than 100 HondaJets so far.
