Marignane, France-based Helisim plans to offer a Eurocopter EC 225/725 FAA level-D flight simulator starting in 2007. This will come in addition to the level-D qualifications that the training service provider, since its inception in 2000, has received for the Super Puma Mk1, Super Puma Mk2, Dauphin N2 and EC 155 helicopters. Like its siblings, the new simulator will have a six-axis motion base and a high-resolution display with a field of view of 200 by 60 degrees. In addition, both cabins and visual systems will be compatible with night-vision goggles. Last year, the Eurocopter/Thales/DCI joint venture said it provided 7,000 hours of simulation training. According to French daily Les Echos, the company aims to reach an annual volume of 10,000 hours in 2008.
