The first Middle East Business Aviation Conference is to be held in Dubai on November 19, on the eve of the Dubai airshow (November 20 to 24). The event is being run by Dubai show organizer Fairs & Exhibitions, hosted by Abu Dhabi-based charter operator Royal Jet and will have as its conference chairman Jack Olcott, president of General Aero and former president of NBAA. The conference agenda will address the various ways to use business aircraft and is expected to draw around 300 delegates. Other topics will include the benefits of chartering, fractional ownership and leasing and purchasing of aircraft. Most of the conference attendees will be by invitation only, but there are a limited number of reservations available for $750 each. There are currently 250 private business jets owned by the six Arab nations that are members of the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC), with the number expected to reach 300 by the end of 2006, according to GCC sources.
