On the second day of this year’s NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, which is being held in Savannah, Ga., attendee numbers had already exceeded last year’s total of 2,471. As of midday yesterday, 2,593 people showed up for four days of seminars, exhibits and networking. Exhibit booths sold climbed to 391, up from last year’s 352, according to NBAA senior manager of seminars Dina Green. News at the show includes ARG/US announcing a new charter broker certification system, which will require that participating brokers verify that charter providers hold ARG/US Gold or Platinum ratings and perform an ARG/US TripCheq before each flight. Jets.com is the first broker to obtain the new ARG/US certified broker designation. Flight-tracking and data provider Passur signed up Signature Flight Support’s FBO network. Growing Van Nuys FBO Maguire Aviation revealed that it has agreed to buy another Van Nuys facility, Skytrails Aviation, from owners Mark and Kathy Sullivan. Flight Explorer, an online flight-tracking provider, announced that customers can access Universal Weather & Aviation’s UVTripPlanner global airport data when using Flight Explorer’s Professional Aircraft Situation Display. The conference concludes tomorrow.
