BizJet International, on the strength of its acquisition last fall by Lufthansa Technik and “exceptional growth” over the past year, sees continued growth in the future. At a press conference yesterday, company president and CEO Peter Loeb noted as one example record demand for JT15D engine overhaul and repair. “By the end of September, the year will have been the best year in the company’s history for JT15D overhaul and repair,” he said.
To meet the increased demand, the Tulsa, Okla.-based company has added more engines to its lease pool, more parts and components to its rotables pool and increased inventory levels.
To strengthen its position in engine repair and maintenance, BizJet this week announced it has purchased Standard Aero’s TFE731 assets. Jace Stone, v-p of sales, marketing and business development, also noted that after getting into the CF34 maintenance business just a year ago, the company has already done its first hot section and sent three engines to the parent company subsidiary Lufthansa Aero in Alzey, Germany, for overhaul.
The company recently completed initial reduced vertical separation minimums (RVSM) test flights of a Lear 25. At its FBO service at Tulsa International Airport, BizJet has expanded its FBO services to include 24/7/365. On the completions side, in the last 18 months, BizJet has painted 14 BBJs.
