Jet Aviation recently signed two letters of intent with customers for the interior completion of two Airbus A350-900 XWB (extra-widebody) executive/VIP jets.
The agreements include aircraft interior design to be done by Jet Aviation. Both aircraft are expected to arrive at the firm’s completion and refurbishment center in Basel, Switzerland, in 2014 and 2015. The completion cycle time for the aircraft is estimated to be about 18 months.
The two aircraft will be configured by Airbus for subsequent VIP cabin completion, and after an extensive test program at the manufacturer’s site will be flown to Basel. They will be the first two A350-99 XWBs to be outfitted for executive/VIP use.
“With this long-term commitment to slots in 2014 and 2015, we can provide our clients a planning schedule with a convenient time horizon and [allow Jet Aviation to] gain a technical familiarization with the aircraft,” said André Wall, Jet Aviation’s COO for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
One aircraft will go to C Jet Ltd. in Hong Kong, while the other is to be delivered to an unidentified Asian customer. Both airplanes will be managed by BAA Jet Management.
